KANSAS CITY, KS
– After a 2-0, win over Duquesne on Friday, the Saint Francis University women’s soccer team earned a spot in the first NSCAA/Continental Tire College Northeast Regional Poll of the 2012 season.  The Red Flash has received recognition in each regional poll released since earning its first-ever ranking on Oct. 18, 2011.

Saint Francis U (1-0) debuted in ninth place, between eighth-place Notre Dame (0-1) and 10th-place Providence (1-1).

The Flash was recently announced as the preseason favorite to win its second Northeast Conference tournament championship in three years.  In 2011, SFU went 12-6-3 (8-1-1 NEC) en route to its first-ever NEC regular season championship.

The Red Flash resumes its season on Wednesday with its first trip to California since the 2006 season.  Saint Francis will match up with San Diego State on Wednesday before battling Long Beach on Friday.  Both games kick off at 7 p.m. PST.
