LOCK HAVEN, PA  – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (0-1) opened the 2012 season with a 3-1 loss to visiting Saint Francis (Pa.) University (1-0) today on Charlotte E. Smith Field.

Newcomer Nakira Downes (Bridgetown, Barbados/The Combermere School) looked solid at forward and had a pair of shots as she tried to spark Lock Haven’s offensive attack in the second half.
